2024 Season Comes to an End - Commissioner's Message

Two weeks ago, the 2024 Masters lacrosse season came to a close. What a great weekend of Masters Lacrosse! Upsets, close games, drama. It had it all. Some players from the past dropped by for a quick visit. Due to some patterning of the regular season, a tie was had in a senior game Friday night, there can be no ties at provincials. Resolution was required, and after meeting with the team captains, a 5-minute sudden-death period at 10 am on Sunday was the solution.

Ontario Masters Provincials

After 4 tournament weekends, 1948 goals scored, 348 games played, all 20 Masters Lacrosse teams will meet in Oakville Ontario to battle it out this weekend for championship glory. Will the reigning Weekend Warriors and Six Nations retain their titles, or will the season standings remain with Bramalea and Owen Sound keeping their top spots? Make sure you are there to check out the edge-of-your-seat action!.

Summer is starting to wind down, but masters lacrosse is still going strong in Ontario. The fourth and final seating tournament of the 2024 season will be hosted this weekend in the Flower City.

Ogilvie grew up playing lacrosse in Peterborough Ontario, after finishing minor lacrosse, he played Junior B in Ennismore and then advanced to play in the Ontario Junior Lacrosse League with the Peterborough Lakers where he won two Minto Cups in 83 and 86. Andy then moved out west where he played with the New Westminster Salmonbellies winning the Mann Cup two times in 89, 91 and then again in 01 with the Coquitlam Adanacs, he was also named the playoff MVP. Ogilvie won gold in 2003 at the FIL World Indoor Lacrosse Championships and bronze at the 1994 FIL World Lacrosse Championships. Andy played nine years in the NLL with the Bandits, Roughnecks and Ravens.

A native of Sudbury Ontario, Kyle grew up developing an interesting and bold sense of humour and some silky, silky mitts. Buckle was drafted in 2000 to the Syracuse Smash, he then moved on to the Columbus Landsharks for the rest of his career. After his professional career, Arbuckle moved on to coaching with teams in the MSL and minor organizations supporting the future of lacrosse.

Foster grew up playing minor lacrosse for the Oakville Hawks, he transitioned directly into a success junior B career with the Buzz, and then onto play for the Quinnipiac University D1 Lacrosse Team. Foster is a human highlight reel, and was quoted as being maybe one of the best and most under-the radar players in Canada.
